1. WW1 historical place

To anyone who finds history interesting, Sarajevo is the perfect place since it is the city where ww1 started. Prince ferdinand was shot and killed by Gavrilo Princip. It is walking distance from Bascarsija and dosnt cost a thing! Defentely worth visiting this historical place

Gavrilo Princip (his footsteps in the picture) shot prince Fe rdinand and his wife in a car and there is actually a replica of the car at this historical place

2. Explore Bascarsija

Walk around the old city and just explore all the small stores and food. You can find anything from just a fridge magnet to ad your collection and old souvenirs from former Yugoslavia. Theres a lot of great restaurants where you can eat cevapi and burek. Theres also a lot of cafes where you can just sit, relax and have some Bosnian coffee.

At the end of Bascarsija theres a spot wheres west meets east. You will notice it right away since the western side is a lot more modern and European. There is also a Mosque which is worth visiting.

3. Try Bosnian food

Bosnia has amazing food, so why not book a tour to be able to go to all the local places? You can easily book a tour on getyourguide. So what kind of food does Bosnia have? That is a great question! Bosnia is most famous for their ćevapi and burek. My personal favourite is burek cuz there is a lot of different types. You can find burek with meat, potato, spinach and even more!

And dont forget to eat all the desserts! I recommend trying kunefe ( A Palestinian deserts made with cheese, dough and syrup) It is a very sweet desert that goes great with coffee. I would also recommend to try baklava and trilece.

4. Go on the cable car

Like many cities Sarajevo has a cable car. It has a great view.

7. Visit the old Olympic arena

Back in 1994 Sarajevo was actually the host city for the Winter olympics. You can visit the old arena by yourself or wwith a tour. The arena is named Juan Antonio Samaranch Olympic Hall.
